I usually wait till Nov 1st to gear up, but it is looking like there is a chance for snow Friday night. Wooooooooooo hoooooooooooooooooo!
Will be missing on this thing in the snow though, what a beast it was on some skinny Hakkapelita 2s

There's snow scheduled in Vermont the day before that RallyX

I wish I had this Fox wagon still, that would have been perfect.

I am too poor to into snow tires. Ugh.
Was hoping to get a new set this year, but not sure how I'm going to square that circle.

I gotta upgrade the Milan tires in the next week or two.

That reminds me, I need to get the Suzuki tires swapped.
Wouldn't be that concerned with it in Pittsburgh since we rarely get more than a few inches of snow, but we're headed to New England for Christmas this year.

Clearly you should rally the Peugeot.

RallyX in the snow?

Peugeots are sold! Alfas are sold! I am going to have a lean winter!

I think I still have some time here in the mid atlantic. I should undercoat my car soon though.

What does the Fox say?
I had an '88. First car I ever owned. I loved it. I'd buy another one tomorrow. Perfect form.

I have some skinny directional mud tire bias ply tractor shit on my Rover. If it gets too dire for the Benz, I'm gonna get me some serious adventuring in.
Kind of like this:

Nothing in the forecast here yet, but it's going to be cold enough for snow this weekend.

haha yup. They sure cut good being skinny too. Benzes on snows are surprisingly solid. Especially the w124 chassis. Looking forward to seeing the difference between (working) w124 4matic and w210 4matic this year though

I'll say this: W124 Benzes on hard all-seasons are *not* so good in the snow when 2wd. Better weight distribution than the W123 means that you won't hit objects head on, you'll just lose the tail, find a section of snow, and stop. Of course, that was when the tires on mine were still oversize, so it may be better now. Wide would just make things worse.

You'll love the 210.
My 2001 E320 4matic handled the snow like a beast. The only thing is, if you have a version with the sport package and the front spoiler, watch out of the anything deeper than abut 8", it will break the spoiler

ha nope, just anon sport-wagon with a surprisingly unblemished front facia...FOR NOW :)

RALLY WHATEVER YOU HAVE

I've had brand new snow tires sitting in my garage for a month. I should get them mounted...

If it gets blemished, you can always just modify it like this:

oh good lord. Jahlove indeed

It's a fantastic car: Fully bio-diesel, seating for 13, LED rope lights all around, custom paint, upright extended exhaust, Frisbee Golf basket, no doors, pool-noodle rollover protection on the lift gate struts, and a Pink Floyd tape that been stuck in the cassette deck for at least 10 years.

Believe it or not, but that car, appropriately named the "Nut Wagon," is a mainstay at a lodge nestled in over 2000 protected acres of the mountains of NC that was:
1) Originally built by the founder of Trailways Bus Lines;
2) Once owned by Lynyrd Skynyrd (seriously);
3) And, is now owned by a former Porsche race driver.

Yeah, looks like there's a possibility we'll get a dusting down here on Saturday as well. I always wait till Thanksgiving break to put mine on though. The Radial T/A's do well enough in light snow the few times I've used them in it.
I still need to order a new set though. The ones I have have enough tread for another winter but I want new rims. My old snows are on the original Jeep wheels which are beat to shit and I can't stand looking at them for another 5 months of the year.
